Lake Fun, Apple Picking, and Being Girly

Our fun summer continued with a Sunday afternoon at the lake with our dear college friends, Tim and Stephanie. It is always great to get together with them and I love how our kids always have a great time. Stephanie's parents retired to a house on a lake and have been so generous to let us invade their home.

Luke, Ryan, and Makenna are like 3 little amigos.
I kept trying to get a picture of the 3 of them jumping into the lake at the same time, but they never would coordinate it for me - usually on purpose.

The boys had a great time tubing on the lake - all 3 of them rode it together.

Meanwhile, Leah had a great time in her own little boat.

And running around the yard and being thrown in the air.

Want a blueberry?

Of course, a silly picture is always in order.

The apples have arrived on our neighbor's tree - which conveniently hangs over our fence. Leah has discovered how much fun it is to gather the wormy apples on the ground and put them into her own bucket.

She loves to collect "treasures."

"All D" (all done)

She threw a massive toddler fit when I wouldn't let her bring the apples inside - so of course, I gave in, and she enjoyed watching Sesame Street (or as she calls it, Sa-she) with her apples in her lap.

Leah stole my purse, so I gave her an old one of mine - it was cute watching her figure out how to put it on her shoulder.

My grandmother had a love of collecting costume jewelry. My mom brought the pencil box full of jewelry that Nanny had decorated and kept in her dresser. I remember spending many hours playing with the jewelry in that box as a child. Leah was equally impressed.

It's fun having a little girl.
