The boys and I had a day off of school last Friday, so we headed to the mountains. It was the first time that I have taken them skiing by myself - Ryan kept asking me if I was sure that I could do it. I portrayed total confidence to them on the way there, but was a little apprehensive on how it would go. It ended up being a great day. We had a wonderful time - the weather was beautiful and we had a fantastic day of skiing. It can be a bit tough to keep an eye on both of them. Ryan likes to head straight down the mountain and Luke takes his time going downhill. Fortunately it wasn't too hard to keep track of Ryan and his green helmet, but I still lost him a few times - but he would wait for us at the bottom of the mountain. Ryan told me at least half a dozen times "Thank you Mama for bringing us." That alone made the trip totally worth it.
I had told the boys that there could be no fighting on this trip - they proved that they are capable of getting along for a long stretch.
I had never been to Keystone before - it ended up being a great place. Ryan and Luke really liked the snow fort and had a good time sliding down the tubes.
We were all fans of the gondola - a much warmer way to travel up the mountain.
It was truly the best day and I hope we can make it up again at least 1 more time this season.
