End of month update

Catching up with the last month and half - we took Leah to an area I pass on my way to work each morning to take some 1 year old pictures. She had a great time playing with her balloons.

The boys reluctantly agreed to take some pictures with their sister - I took about 300 pictures (way too many, I know) and about 2 came out sort of decent of the 3 of them. Not so much due to Leah, but more due to lack of cooperation from the older two (in particular, the one on the left).

Leah loved trying to eat the grass.
The next day, I took some cake smash pictures in her room. I wanted to be able to get some good pics of her digging into her cake outside of her birthday party. She had a great time digging into the icing, I don't think she realized there was cake below that.

Shortly after the gorgeous weather above, we had a blizzard with about a foot of snow. We all thoroughly enjoyed our snow day.

Ryan and Luke worked together to make a little snowman for Leah before the big part of the storm hit.

Greg was out of town, so the boys had the task of shoveling the driveway - Leah and I came out to watch for while. They did a great job shoveling a ton of snow and I didn't have too much I had to clean up later.

Grandad and Nana have given each of their grandkids a piggy bank for their 1st birthdays.

All 3 kids had a great time with their grandparents - I hope they felt the same way.

Greg is a fanatical Bronco fan. Football season is fairly stressful around here based on wins and losses. Thank goodness they won the Super Bowl this year. We took this picture before the game - that night Greg went out with a few hundred Bronco fans to buy Super Bowl t-shirts for all of us. The boys were really excited to wear their new shirts to school the next day.

Leah loved the pom-pom, she also learned how to give the touchdown sign when we said "Touchdown Broncos"!

The obligatory silly-face picture that is needed to get Ryan and Luke to cooperate.

Leah is on the move, and the gates have come up.

We had chocolate fondue for dessert on Valentine's Day
Leah was a really big fan.

Peek-a-boo  Leah is a funny, joyful, silly, and playful girl.

Finally learned to clap!

Ryan is the best big brother ever - he loves to give Leah a bath.

She seems to be having a blast every day.

Water Play (in February)

We took advantage of the warm weather today and put together Leah's water table. She loved it - and so did her brothers.

Leah's Storybook Birthday Party!

Happy Birthday Leah!  We celebrated this little girl's 1st birthday this weekend. She loves to read and to be read to, so it seemed only appropriate to have a storybook party. She had a great time - no tears and apprehension with all of the people around. Leah had no idea the day was about her - and as usual her attitude was just happy to be here.

Ryan and Luke helped me with the decorations. Luke and I bought some children's books from Goodwill and we made paperchains and paper rosettes out of them. The boys also picked out several of their favorite pictures and put them up all over the house.

It's crazy how fast this year has gone - seems like only yesterday that we came home from the hospital.

Official 1 year old stats.

I had fun planning out the menu to correspond with the theme. Greg doesn't understand the point, but I've told him that this is fun for me - I only go all out for kids' first few birthdays.

The hot chocolate bar was a huge hit with the kids. I think I'll keep this up for Christmas parties and add some adult beverage additions to go with it.

Leah's cake. We had a smash cake day last weekend with her and I took a ton of pictures that I'll add later. So this wasn't her first cake, but she still enjoyed it.

Storybook cupcakes - complete with a gluten-free one for our glutard friend.

Leah's family and friends. Ryan ended up moving her right next to him while they ate - she had a great time watching the kids.

Yummm....cake

She mainly digs into the icing.

Sweet little girl

My 3 blessings

Happy Birthday!

Leah thought the presents were great. We had asked people to bring a book to be donated to a local preschool, but she still had gifts from family.

Ryan and Luke got Leah the bus. They had a similar one when they were her age, which was probably their favorite toy.

Luke used to store his favorite small toys and puzzle pieces in the seat of his bus. I am hoping not to find a dead bird inside of Leah's bus like I did in his bus several years ago.

We love this baby girl!
